A Day in Seaside

We spent the second full day of our trip in Seaside. It was just as neat as I thought it would be. First we walked around the center of the little town.

My sister was in a wedding at this chapel last summer. Poor thing.

We ate at this little restaurant and sat outside under some magnolia trees. By the time our food came we were about to pass out from the heat and Annabeth was beside herself. It was a two-spilled-drinks kind of meal. But I had fried fish sandwich that was very tasty.

Not even dum dums helped Annabeth's mood.

At the end of our meal we learned there was a little playhouse right around the corner. I wish we had known that before all our drinks got knocked over.

Here's a glimpse of the cute little post office and the row of airstream food trucks.

We couldn't take the heat any longer and it was time to swim!

This is one of AB's experimental smiles. There were many.

Jackson loved the boogie board. I followed him down the beach as he drifted with the current. When we got too far, I would pull him through the waves back to our home base. It was a lot of fun and a great work out for me.

Annabeth's first reaction to the beach at Seaside was to dance and twirl in the water.

I might have done this too if I'd been alone.

I've never seen anything more adorable.

A little gymnastics never hurts.

Here's my little surfer boy. We had a blast together. There aren't as many pictures of him because when I was focused on him, I was actually in the water.

Aber spent a lot of time doing this kind of thing.

So sassy.

I love this picture so much.

It was an epic day in the Jones Family History.

We left Seaside with happy hearts and empty sunscreen bottles. It was truly one of the best few hours of my life. I hope I never forget the feeling of joy and thankfulness I had when I was riding the waves with Jackson and watching my daughter twirl on the seashore.

We love Seaside! We went for our honeymoon 9 years ago and have been twice since. It has grown a lot over the 9 years we have going and because of that I feel has lost some of it's charm but it is still one of my all time favorite places! RoseMary Beach is really great and a little more affordable....it is just down the road. We went there last summer and then just spent a day in Seaside. Glad you had a great time.

My daughter has the same shirt (and wears bows in her hair)! Lovely pictures. I too savor those moments where everything looks just as you hoped in life (maybe even better). :)

We did the exact same thing when we were in PCB at Thanksgiving. We drove to Seaside for the evening and LOVED LOVED IT!!! They had their Christmas parade that night which I will never ever forget. Just as quaint and sweet as you would imagine!

We will definitely go back next week while we are there. I have some shopping to do. ;) I will think of you, my friend. Maybe even twirl around in the water.

((hugs))

Those are some gorgeous pictures. I have never seen the blue ocean either (well, except for Hawaii 1 time). We always went to Galveston too and that is just nasty. This is definately a place I am begging my husband to take me and the kids to.

i love the one where jackson and annabeth are getting ready to walk onto the beach and he's got his cute little arm around his sweet little sis. as the older ladies at the farmers market always tell me, "these are the days to treasure." sometimes its tough to do while in the throws of parenting. but sometimes, time just stops... thank you for sharing <3

Simple pleasures like these are what make the world go round!

I loved your photos. Your children are super cute and it's lovely to see their smiles as they played in the sand and the water. I'll never forget the first time my children paddled in the sea...breathtaking!! (Literally...it was so cold lol!)

Love these pics. The kids are too adorable - esp. Jackson with the missing teeth. Love AB's bow with her swimsuit, a southern baby in style! :) Thanks for sharing - so glad you could have this great experience! :)

I have a picture of my oldest daughter, who will be 5 next month, as a 2 year old holding my hand right there at the white fence leading to the beach--and putting her toes in the sand for the first time with a delighted look on her face. Such an idyllic spot! And then she saw the waves and ran screaming...but for a moment it was, indeed, idyllic. How time flies!!

So fun, Amanda! Never been there, but we love Navarre beach. So beautiful, and there is hardly anyone ever there. The girls love the boogie boards, too ...and once we kept getting stung by tiny pieces of jelly fish. That was not fun! :) AB's smiles ... think that is about the age when I started having the girls take pictures with a "solemn" look ... I'd say, "Look at the flower" ... snap that picture!
